Course Information

Princeton Country Club is an 18 hole championship golf course opened in 1958 and is actually located in West Windsor, New Jersey.     Princeton is the only Mercer County operated course that does not take advanced tee time reservations and offers play on a first come first serve basis. This picturesque course is open year round seven days a week weather permitting. The course measures 5,845 yards from the regular tees with a par of 70.

Princeton Country Club is also home to the Mercer County Golf Academy.

Having opened this summer, the Mercer County Golf Academy was created through an agreement with the Mercer County Park Commission and Simductive Golf of West Windsor. The Academy offers quality golf instruction at all three County golf facilities—Mercer Oaks, Princeton Country Club, and Mountain View Golf Club—as well as year-round instruction and state-of-the-art swing analysis at the 3,500-square-foot indoor space at the Princeton Country Club headquarters off Route 1 in West Windsor.

“The sport of golf continues to grow, and people who have never played can build their confidence by taking advantage of our Golf Academy,” said County Executive Brian M. Hughes. “Visitors to our County golf courses can now enjoy amenities usually reserved for country club members. From quality golf courses to instruction, our courses run by the Park Commission have never offered more. The County is proud to add another dimension to our growing golf program.”

Kevin Bannon, Park Commission director, agreed. “Providing quality instruction for golfers of all ages and abilities was an absolute must when we put the golf instruction contract out to bid,” said Bannon. “The Mercer County Golf Academy is a great programming addition to our golf courses, and already through youth camps, group lessons, and individual instruction, we have seen a tremendous response from our customers.”

The Mercer County Golf Academy is run by Wayne Winderman, who brought with him a talented staff of PGA-qualified instructors, including Joe Hallett, National Director of Simductive golf and coach of the recent U.S. Women’s Open Champion Inbee Park.

“The Academy offers a full array of individual and group lessons for golfers of all ages,” said Wayne Winderman, president of the Mercer County Golf Academy. “Our junior programs are among the finest in the area and we offer a special emphasis on youth lessons.”

The academy features four indoor driving ranges, a fully stocked golf equipment shop, a club-fitting studio, and club repair work shop. The MCGA offers “internet pricing” on all merchandise. “Simply put, we will meet or beat any advertised price on stock equipment,” Winderman said.

The Mercer County Golf Academy is located on the second floor of the Princeton Country Club, 1 Wheeler Way, Princeton, N.J. 08540, on the second floor of the Princeton Country Club. For more information, call (609) 520-0040.
